After nearly 30 years of insisting Disney’s Animal Kingdom is not a zoo, Disney Parks officials have reportedly softened their position, unveiling a refreshed slogan: “Okay Yeah, Itzazu.” The change comes after decades of guests observing lions, gorillas, giraffes, tigers, birds, reptiles, animal habitats, conservation messaging, and then quietly concluding, “So… a zoo?”
Executives clarified that Animal Kingdom remains far more than a traditional zoo, pointing to its immersive theming, world-class attractions, elaborate lands, and the fact that most zoos do not include a giant blue alien simulator or a roller coaster guarded by a yeti who may or may not be working. Still, officials admitted the original slogan had become “increasingly difficult to maintain with a straight face.” The new slogan is a clear nod to the not so former, not-so-convincing “Nahtazu” mantra of yesteryear.

“We stand by everything that makes Animal Kingdom unique,” said one spokesperson. “It is beautiful, educational, emotionally moving, and also, yes, there are a bunch of animals there and people walk around looking at them. At a certain point, we had to meet the public halfway.”
